The Cairn Vale project was to create the walk out basement level for two executive 3 storey houses on the outskirts of Newquay. ICF was selected as the preferred build system as it combines thermal performance with the ability to act as a retaining wall. These basements were subsequently topped with custom designed kit frames and clad in blockwork. In order to provide sufficient wall thickness to support the timber frame and masonry build up, the Nudura corbel block (Brick ledge) was used on the top course where required.
